I was at the Honda dealership this morning getting my car tuned up. While I was waiting for my car, I was sitting at one of their two computer stations, which is located next to the customer lounge. I noticed that the dealership had a new Honda Security Guard — in his mid-twenties — who was doing a spectacular job. He was sitting in the lounge with the other customers watching TV, eating a donut (I’m not kidding) and screwing around on his personal laptop computer.
The security guard was sitting in the lounge and screwing off the entire time I was there. Here are a couple choice conversations I overheard:
Episode 1
Calls tech support for a dating site. “I’m trying to create an account on dating.com. It keeps telling me my credit card is invalid…you’re sure there’s nothing wrong with your system, because my credit is good…blah, blah, blah.”
Episode 2
Looks at customer in scrubs from a local hospital. “You work at ‘so and so’ hospital?” She reluctantly answers with, “yes.” He then continues with this one-way conversation:
“I had two surgeries there”
“It was a really a great place”
“I have a metal plate in my head, that was one of the surgeries.”
“I fell in love with nurse last time…she was married.”
“My anesthesia didn’t work during one of my surgeries.”
She quietly gets up and walks away. Where? Nobody knows, just away.
Dating.com, here he comes. It’s only a matter of time until he gets a valid credit card.
